Golden Earth Calendar Design

This year’s new calendar design is all about listening with intention. Giving ourselves grace to be fluid with our thoughts and actions. Taking a step back to just be present with nature and ourselves. And being thankful for the beauty that surrounds us.

The design of our Golden Earth calendars was inspired by the messages we receive from nature when we listen with intention. Each month features a different original illustration paired with a monthly one-word mantra: breathe - listen - love - move - create - nurture - grow - shine - play - harvest - give - reflect.

All of the illustrations are original, created specifically for this collection in my sketchbook with paint and water. I like to use Procreate on my iPad when I can, but it just wasn’t working for the fluid style I was going for. So I took my sketchbook (and my monstera plant) outside and put paint to paper. I like to pain in black, as you can see in my sketchbook, and then colorize digitally for certain things. It allows me to really focus on the shapes, textures and brushstrokes. And then I’ll play around with different color combinations after scanning and bringing the illustrations into my MacBook.
